Mark A. Tullos, MD

Mark Tullos, MDMark Tullos, M.D., is a board certified General Surgeon with special interest in surgery of the GI tract. He performs colonoscopies, upper endoscopies and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. Dr. Tullos is particularly focused on the treatment of gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). He brought TIF surgery (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication) to Waco and also performs other minimally invasive treatments for reflux. With careful attention to the unique details of each patient, treatment plans are individually selected to meet their needs and minimize risks. Mark Tullos was a National Merit Finalist and graduated from University of Houston, Magna Cum Laude in 1990. He completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in 1994 and surgical training at Temple University Hospital in Philadephia, PA. He later volunteered as a medical missionary in Central Asia, where he performed surgery and taught at a local medical school. After returning to the States, Dr. Tullos was recruited to join the surgical staff of Hillcrest Medical Center in 2006 where he has been an active member, including serving as President of the Medical Staff.
